SCART EXTENDER & AUTO RGB SWITCHER

The Trilogy 2 will accept three Scart RGB inputs from DVD, digital satellite/cable box, games console, etc.
When all inputs are switched to standby the TV will revert to its normal operating mode. If a VCR is connected to the VCR input on the satellite receiver this will also be viewable on your TV screen.  With this configuration the Trilogy 2 effectively gives you a three-way automatic scart selector.

TRILOGY 1

Don't be fooled by the many look-alike versions of this RGB switcher. The Trilogy 1 is the original design (not clone)  and offers more features than other makes and models. Up to ten AV devices can be controlled by this console without the need for any complicated cabling. It offers four RGB scart inputs, a scart input for VCR or an auxiliary device, a scart RGB TV output, two sets of phono video and stereo audio outputs for connecting an extra TV monitor and Videosender system, plus a left/right phono output for feeding audio to a hi-fi. Another set of phono AV inputs for a camcorder is conveniently located under a front flap. Smart automatic scart switching always ensures that the last input device turned on is viewed on TV. There's also a simple remote control which allows you to manually select which device you want to view and which you want to record from. It even lets you record two different videos at the same time with a special lock function to ensure against accidental interruption. THIS DEVICE IS "THE" SOLUTION TO THE AGE OLD PROBLEM OF NOT ENOUGH SCART INPUTS ON YOUR TV TO TAKE ALL OF YOUR GADGETS. THIS HAS 7 INPUTS IN ALL AND THREE OUTPUTS. THERE ARE 5 RGB ENABLED INPUTS SO THAT COVERS YOUR DVD PLAYER, SATELLITE 1 & 2, DIGIBOX, AND GAMES CONSOLE BUT YOU WILL HAVE I SPARE SCART SOCKET FOR YOUR VIDEO RECORDER WHICH IS NOT RGB ENABLED AND 1 EXTRA INPUT VIA COMPOSITE FOR SAY A CAMERA. THIS BOX THEREFORE, SHOULD BE THE SOLUTION FOR ALL OF YOUR DEVICES.

We realized here at 3w that we had not tested this box thoroughly although we had been selling it for a good while, so we took it home and gave it a good seeing to. This is the mark 2 version, which has auto switching of screen size as standard.

There are three banks of knobs, they simply allow you to filter through all the devices you have connected to it. The first bank deals with what you are sending to the TV, this is RGB enabled and therefore the king pin, there are two other banks one marked VCR (video recorder) and one marked Modu ( video sender) By thumbing through all of these options you can watch one program on TV, record another source via the VCR bank, and send a third signal to a Video sender and this can be sent to another room in your house without wires. If you choose the right video sender, then you will be able to control the MODU option from that room with Digieye technology. If you look further down the page, we have recommend a Video sender, it's our cheapest, but it gives the best picture too. The flexibility this device offers you is only limited by your imagination. It even takes a stab at Digital sound but as some devices won't be Digital enabled like a VCR, it can cause a conflict there.

There is an Auto button, for devices which have this pin enabled, if it does then when you turn a device on, it will automatically become the dominant signal and go to your TV. We prefer to use the manual button, it just gives you more control.

The only real disappointment of this wholly imaginative device is the VCR option is not RGB enabled as most people have HD recorders and DVD recorders now, this port is not RGB enabled. A way to record RGB sources would be to put the DVD recorder between the HSR-1000 and the TV, or if you wanted to be able to turn off the DVD player then use a device like the SCAMP2 at the bottom of this page, so you can split the RGB signal going to the TV and send it to the RGB enabled recorder simultaneously. If you decide that you like this option we are selling the Trilogy 2 at a special price if bought with the HSR-1000. We loved the flexibility of this device and it's an essential in our homes now. Don't be put off by it's seeming complexity, once you plug all of your devices in, it's a real doddle.

This video/audio transmitter is completely legal to own as it broadcasts on 2.4 G Hz which is a legal frequency. Not only will this allow the viewing of Tv and or Audio sources in another room, it also has a way of conveying remote control info to your equipment, so not only can you watch Tv from another room but you can turn over the channels too.

Has a range of 100m plain line of site but realistically through a couple of walls this comes down to 30-40 metres which covers most homes. If your home has metal construction or live in a house where the walls are 30 inches thick, do not buy this item.
